Wolfpit Bed and Breakfast has three upstairs rooms available for guests. Wireless internet is accessible in all rooms, but if you do not wish to bring your own computer, please feel free to use ours. Each room has a radio alarm clock, hypo-allergenic pillows and extra blankets. Windows in the rooms are equipped with 'darkening pull-down shades' to encourage a late morning sleep when desired. Upon your request, the thermostat setting can quickly be adjusted to your preferred temperature. (Please note that both our rooms and the grounds at Wolfpit are smoke-free.) In the hall just outside the rooms you will find a cherry cradle, handmade by my husband Fleet. It is filled with board games, trivia, etc., for your enjoyment at any time. In fact, we will be happy to play a game with you! |

One window of this room overlooks the old oak grove planted under the supervision of Miss Jessie Taylor Harris, whose grandparents originally owned Wolfpit Plantation. Out the other, you can see the old plantation kitchen. This room has a double bed with down comforter and a reading/writing corner, complete with a rocking chair and an antique oak secretary. |
This room is flanked by the oldest Southern Magnolia tree on the property. Our children call it the "Elephant Tree;" the base and roots of the tree resemble an elephant's leg and foot, and one of the magnolia's long limbs could be easily mistaken for his trunk! The Queen Anne canopy bed (antique reproduction) is the Victorian way to a cozy night's slumber. This double bed is most suitable for one person, but could accompany two snugly. The almost century old wardrobe was handmade by a North Carolina Piedmont craftsman, per the commission of my grandfather. |

We also refer to this as the "Morning Room" because it gets the beautiful early morning light as the sun rises over the eastern horizon. The mirrored dresser and double bed, both over a century in age, belonged to our great grandparents from Pender County, North Carolina. From this room in spring and summer you can view our State flower on the small Dogwood trees which have popped up here and there under the giant oaks in the yard. Cardinals, the North Carolina State bird, thoroughly enjoy their red berries in the fall! |
